Introducing a New Home Boarding Club for Dogs in South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire

On the 3rd of August 2013 the tiny hamlet of Throapham in South Yorkshire saw the arrival of 101 Friends for Every Dog; a home boarding club for dogs. The club is owned and operated by Sue Bailey, a former Civil Servant.

Described as the Dog-Friendly Alternative to Kennels, the service that 101 Friends provides is a welcome panacea for kennel stressed canines.

Sue has had plenty of experience of different breeds of dog from childhood.  Her family owned at different times - a black Labrador, a Jack Russell and a German Shepherd.  As an adult she had a Welsh/Border Collie cross and two Cairn Terriers plus a host of other small pets.

Her two children have now grown up and flown the nest so she has plenty of free time to devote to ensuring that 101 Friends for Every Dog in South Yorkshire runs smoothly and efficiently and that dogs get the expert care they deserve.

A Civil Servant for 13 years; Sue made the decision to leave public service behind and pursue a career in self employment as the 101 Friends Operator for the South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire area.

101 Friends for Every Dog began in Wiltshire in 2005.  The dog boarding club has steadily grown and now has branches all over the UK.

The purpose of 101 Friends is to provide every animal with a happy stay in a comfortable and secure environment while the owners are away.

Our aim is to ensure that each dog is properly cared for by a dedicated and experienced carer in the carer's own home.

We have a wonderful network of experienced dog carers throughout South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire; all of whom are members of 101 Friends. Each one has been thoroughly interviewed and had their homes and gardens inspected and approved.  House sitting can also be arranged if an owner prefers their dog to remain at home.

With home boarding the dog will receive all of the love, attention and companionship he is used to receiving at home.
